Now here is how it should be written in 2010:

as a result of knowing your stuff and having something valuable to contribute 


Let's make ourselves a promise for the new year, and this promise will also be the promise we make to our audience. Answer these questions and reword it so it's a promise:

What pressing problem do you solve?
What pain do you remove?
What value do you add?
What pleasure do you create?
What freedom do you permit?
What connection do you allow?
